If you know of this establishment, you probably won't have a website account. Has been around for 20+ years after moving from its original spot in Glodok Plaza. Most of the customers are really old. The price is a bit on the high side but I believe they serve the only 'correct' Hainanese chicken rice as well as steam chicken (uses ayam kampung only) Other classic Khek dishes such as Gurame Asam Manis/Tausi, Kodok Mentega and of course their famous Lumpia udang is something I want to have from time to time.  Best enjoyed with your older generation, they sure will appreciate it.Place needs renovation, don't come for the ambience. Come for the experience and blast for the past!

Kesini utk dinner ber 5, habis sekitar 500rb..Service & ambience:Service perfect, keliatan mrk well trained & tw apa yg hrs dilakukan..ambience terkesan restoran tua, tapi bersih kok :)Food:- Pocai: agak tawar, so so tp fresh- Lumpia udang: the best! Juicy :) lumpianya bentuknya kaya otak2 & di dlmnya ada potongan udang besar..kl kata tante, ini udah beda..kalau dulu lbh pipih & enak..- Perut ikan: agak tawar, so so- Muntahu: so so- Ayam rebus pacamke: so so, agak keras- Nasi hainam: averageOverall:Makanannya cukup enak tp bkn yg wao bgt..tp saya sgt recommend utk yg mau bawa orang tua, karena makanannya mild rasanya & ga berasa ga enak gt bdnnya abis mkn..lumpia udang oke kok :)

Love the dishes. Authentic Hakka style Chinese food. Service is also great. Old restaurant but maintained clean ambience. Definitely our family choice over modern Chinese cuisine.

1. Ordered steamed chicken. Asked for clean breast portion. It came rather dark pink and very hard to chew. Exchanged it with Ayam Nanking. 2. Ordered fried noodles was good and standard. 3. Ayam Nanking came and it was not edible. Meat had prawn and chicken mixed and really smelly. Very disappointed with the place. It used to be the place to go to for steamed chicken.

Restoran fajar ini merupakan restoran yang udah g makan dari kecil. tadi pesen 5 menu jadi akan g bahas satu2.1. ayam rebus: sebuah hidangan biasa rasanya agak tawar. gag kefoto da keburu abis dimakan2. lumpia udang : ini rasanya paling the best, gag berubah dr zaman dulu. must try banget, tadi pesen yg porsinya gede tp harganya juga lumayan bikin kantong bolong sekitar 170k.3. hupio cah: ini menu dewa laennya menurut g ini enak banget apalgi kalo pesen nasi hainam, kuahnya pas dicampur ama nasi hainam.4. kangkung hotplate: disajikan dengan hotplate yg masih berasap dan rasanya juga enak.5. Fu yung hai : gag terlalu suka dengan menu yg ini biasa aja. fu yung hai pada umumnya. gag da yg spesial.kalo disini wajib banget makan nasi hainamnya, karena nasi hainamnya enak banget sama lumpia udang 👍👍

This is an old family type restaurant. My family know the owner and since I was a kid I love to go here and now I bring my family to eat here again. The food always reminds me of my childhood and my parents . We really used to come here for lunch or dinner after we went to the church. This restaurant only served food in Small or Large portion. No medium. But if you come here over than 5 persons I suggest you to order Large. In this review my order everything is in Large portion.❤️ SUP LABU 3 🌟: FREEThis reataurant served Sup Labu as a starter for free to lifted up your appetite. I love this clear soup although only a bowl with a soup and 2 pieces of white pumpkin. ❤️ LUMPIA UDANG 5 🌟: 170.5Kcan’t describe it in words. It really has amazing taste! Soft and tender yet very tasty. It comes with sweet and sour sauce. This is a must order. ❤️ AYAM NANKING 5 🌟: 132KThis special chicken also taste amazing. It’s like a chicken puyunghai and comes with special butter and english soy sauce. ❤️ BABI KULUYUK 5 🌟: 145KIt’s so yummy! Can’t describe it. Pork deep fried with onions and paprika and mixed together with sweet and sour sauce. For non moslem you gotta try this. Went here on a Sunday afternoon with my family. The food was really good but the service was super bad. I waited for more than half an hour for an orange juice, then when I asked the waiter where my drink is, she said ‘Lagi rame kak, pesen yang gampang aja’.. And it wasn’t even that busy, only five tables were occupied.Dear Fajar Restaurant,The bad service is such a disappointment because your foods are really great. Please improve your service 😊

The best Chinese Food in South Jakarta, the fav menu is Sweet and Sour Pork, Crispy Fried Chicken, Hainan Chicken Rice, Shrimp Lumpia. The only drawback is lack of dessert

Chinese Restaurant cocok yang terletak di jalan melawai ini emang udh jadi langganan sejak kecil. Legend banget ini resto. Tempatnya tipikal resto jaman dulu dengan meja2 bulatnyaService resto ini semakin kesini semakin baik Kunjungan kali ini pesen:Lumpia udang - ini signature food dr resto ini Kailan Kodok goreng --- krispy bumbunya juga enak Gurame tahu tausi --- rasa ikan gak bau tanah yang pasti. Dan enak banget Kuah labu --- ini free dan ini seger banget. Setiap orang dikasi satu mangkok. Dan ini penetral abis kita makan yg berbumbu bumbuRasa bumbu dr masakan ini pas semua, harganya juga ok.... masih reasonable. Porsinya sedang.
